Ministry of Labour Declares Paid Holiday for Eid Al Fitr in Private Sector

The Ministry of Labour has announced a three-day paid holiday for private sector employees in celebration of Eid Al Fitr.
This holiday applies to all employees in private sector establishments governed by the Labour Law. If work conditions necessitate employees working during the holiday, employers must adhere to Article 74 of the Labour Law, which outlines provisions for overtime hours and associated compensations.

This announcement aligns with common practices in GCC countries, where Eid Al Fitr holidays for the private sector typically range from three to five days, depending on the country and specific circumstances.

In Qatar, for example, the Ministry of Labour has also declared a three-day paid holiday for private sector employees.
Similarly, in the UAE, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has announced a paid holiday from Sunday, March 30, to Tuesday, April 1, with potential extension if Ramadan lasts 30 days.
